About Tanzania

Tanzania is located on the east coast of Africa, sharing much of its northern boarder with Kenya, and is a politically stable and safe country in which to travel. The familiar and iconic names of Serengeti, Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro and Zanzibar will evoke images of abundant wildlife and exotic adventures.

Geography

National Parks and National Game Reserves occupy almost half of Tanzania’s land area. With the proximity of many of these world-renown destinations, adventures can be easily planned to fit your schedule.

The ideal African safari destination

You may have been inspired by a safari documentary, but nothing can take the place of actually being immersed in this Tanzanian wilderness. You will be utterly speechless as you become part of your African surroundings and the endless expanses of the savannah. As you spot your first leopard lounging in a sausage tree or see a family of elephants walking leisurely past your vehicle, you’ll know you are in an extraordinary place. It is truly filled withmemorable moments.

Tanzania is home to Mount Kilimanjaro and Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

One of the most iconic parks in Tanzania is the Serengeti National Park. As a comparison, the Serengeti is approximately ten times larger than Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. This truly offers the opportunity to get off the beaten path and to be a witness to such marvels as the annual herbivore migration, which includes nearly two million wildebeest and thousands of antelope and zebra.

Mount Kilimanjaro

At 5,895 meters (19,341 feet), Mount Kilimanjaro is not only the highest point in Africa, but the highest free-standing mountain in the world, meaning the mountain is not part of any contiguous range. In climbing this incredible wonder, you will experience five unique climate zones: Rain Forest, Heather, Moorlands, Alpine Desert and Arctic Summit. Tanzania offers a variety of routes to climb this incredible mountain giving you choices on the number of days for your trek.
