Day 1: Arusha-Tarangire
You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi after breakfast and will drive to Tarangire National Park. The park gets its name from the Tarangire River which rises in Tanzania’s central highland and lures thousands of plains game to its banks. Your game drive will take you through this 3,000 square mile park, which is known for its large number of elephants and iconic baobab trees. Tarangire is the home of over 2,000 elephants and 500 bird species.
Dinner and overnight will be spent inside the Tarangire National Park.
Day 2: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for an early morning game drive.
This spectacular national park is located at the north western corner of Lake Manyara, a hallow soda lake which lies at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment and is not only known for its large flocks of flamingos, but also for the elusive tree climbing lions.
After lunch and a short rest from the heat, there will be an afternoon game drive as we head to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, the day will begin with a scenic drive up the Rift Valley escarpment to Serengeti National Park. As we cross the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, we may make an optional stop at Olduval Gorge where there is a museum housing documents of 1.8 million-year old human-like fossils. We will then head towards Serengeti National Park and will game drive along the way to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Central Serengeti
Your entire day will be devoted to spectacular game drives in the Central Region of Serengeti National Park. The Seronera River Valley offers superb game viewing throughout the year with an abundance of animals who inhabit this region.
As an option, you may also choose a champagne breakfast as you glide over the Serengeti in a hot air balloon.
Today, you will enjoy a hot lunch followed by a short siesta in the heat of the day.
After this memorable day, you will go back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5-6: North Serengeti
After breakfast each day, you will enjoy full days in the northern part of the Serengeti. One of the impressive highlights will be the migration across the Mara River. The northern region of the Serengeti is rich with migration opportunities across these endless plains. Your guide will be schooled on the current location for the various migration patterns.
Once again, at the end of your days, you will be brought to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Serengeti –Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast you will depart for your final day of exploration in the magnificent Serengeti National Park. After your morning safari drive, we will go to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As an option, you will have the opportunity to stop at Masai Boma, a traditional Masai village. Your dinner and overnight lodge stay will be at the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 8: Ngorongoro crater –Arusha
You will begin your day with a decent of 600M into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, which is home to an estimated 30,000 wild animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black Rhinos. The crater has a dense population of predators such as the Lion, Cheetah and the elusive Leopard. Lunch will be at the Ngoitokitok Springs as you watch the hippos meander in and out of this small spring lake. After lunch, we will have one last game drive as we begin our return and drive back to Arusha.
